HONOR Goes All In on AI and Robotics at MWC 2026
HONOR made a series of ambitious announcements at MWC 2026, previewing a shape-shifting "Robot Phone," introducing its first humanoid robot, and launching the Magic V6, its thinnest foldable yet.
The Chinese tech company used the event to push forward its Augmented Human Intelligence (AHI) strategy, signaling it wants to move well beyond conventional smartphones.
A Phone That Moves
The standout reveal was the Robot Phone, a concept device that blends embodied AI with physical motion. Unlike a traditional smartphone, it packs a compact four-degree-of-freedom gimbal system powered by a self-developed micro motor, allowing it to physically track subjects, stabilize video, and even respond with gestures like nods and head shakes.
HONOR CEO James Li framed it as part of a larger ambition. "We are exploring the new paradigm of AI devices with Alpha Phone," he said. "With three waves of the Alpha Plan, we now have all the components in place and we are driving this journey at full warp speed."
The device is built around a 200MP sensor and supports features like AI Object Tracking and AI SpinShot for cinematic rotational shots. HONOR positioned it as a step toward smartphones that don't just respond to commands but interact with the world around them.
Magic V6: Thin, Tough, Long-Lasting
On the more immediately available side, HONOR launched the Magic V6, which it calls a new benchmark for foldables. At just 8.75mm when folded, it houses a 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery, an industry first with 25% silicon content developed in partnership with ATL.
The foldable runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, and features dual LTPO 2.0 displays reaching up to 6,000 nits of peak brightness. HONOR also claims a 44% reduction in crease depth compared to the previous generation.
The company teased future battery tech as well, demonstrating a next-generation silicon-carbon blade battery with 32% silicon content and over 900 Wh/L, aimed at pushing foldables past the 7,000mAh mark.
Magic V6 will be available in select markets in the second half of 2025, with pricing to be confirmed regionally.
Humanoid Robot and Ecosystem Devices
HONOR also revealed its first humanoid robot, designed for shopping assistance, workplace inspections, and companionship. The company said its years of smartphone user data give it an edge in building robots that can recognize and personalize interactions from the start.
Rounding out the lineup were the MagicPad 4, a 4.8mm tablet with a 3K OLED display and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, starting at €699, and the MagicBook Pro 14 laptop powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors.
Together, the announcements paint a picture of HONOR betting heavily on AI and embodied intelligence as the next frontier for consumer electronics.
